So, I'm a HUUUUUGE fan of pretty much all of Rick Riordan's mythology based books. The Percy Jackson books, the Heroes of Olympus, and the Kane Chronicles are all amazing works of literary art, in my opinion. However, there is a large problem, and that is with the movies being made from the books. Downright awful. That's the only way I can describe them. Honestly, I knew that they could never be as good as the books, but THIS? This is just sad. The books are made of Imperial Gold. But the movies are practically made of pegasus crap. They portray Percy horribly, Annabeth isn't even blond until the second movie, and Grover is just no. I am not a racist person, but Grover is supposed to be the pasty, awkward, white kid. But no. He's a confident black guy. And that isn't even the tip of the iceberg. Oh, no. Do they mention Kronos, the main antagonist of the series, once in the first movie? Nope, not once. The only gods that really appeared in the movie were Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades. Damn, Chris Colombus, I thought you knew what you were doing. You did the Harry Potter movies so well. You'd think that with all the money spent on CGI and stuff, they could at least get people to play more of the prominent roles. I guess not. I could on for a lot longer, but I feel that my point has been made. I'll probably brutally tear this part of the franchise asunder, but that will be for a different time.
